IHeartMedia Radio Power 105 celebrity DJ, personality and Brooklyn native, DJ Self hosted a Back to School Giveaway event in Herbert Von King Park August 2017 and August 2018. Appropriately titled after DJ Self's brand "Gwinin Gives".

This free event to all had a goal of 300 filled backpacks as well as include live entertainment, food, games, activities for the entire family and school supplies for the upcoming academic school year. The backpack goal was met and surpassed by a total of 700+ filled backpacks.

Laurén Media Group coordinated with sponsors iHeartRadio’s Power 105, Target Stores, Subway Restaurants, Costco Wholesale, TD Bank, Essentia Water, Miss Jessie's, Home Depot, NYPD, Rookie USA and many other local merchants to provide free school supplies for grade school children aged 6-18 years old.
